황정혜

I am currently in my final year of undergraduate studies in Genetics and Biotechnology at Kyung Hee University. I served as an executive committee member for the K-BioX Global Post-doc Workshop held on October 13, 2023. During my undergraduate studies at Kyung Hee University, I served as a full-time undergraduate researcher at the ‘Signal Transduction and Transcriptional Regulation Laboratory’. My own project focused on developing a potent ERK5 (MAPK7) inhibitor, recognizing its potential to counteract the upregulation observed in various cancers and surmount resistance to ERK1/2-targeted therapy. The findings were ultimately published in Current Issues in Molecular Biology. While taking courses in Molecular Biology and Developmental Biology, I was captivated by the intricate mechanisms through which the seemingly simple proteins, known as transcription factors, operate. Now, I am passionately interested in the molecular interplay between epigenetic modifications and transcription processes. Driven by a desire for a global society where diversity exists, I began serving as an English interpreter at the age of 13. During the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, I volunteered as an English interpreter for the international press. Beyond merely absorbing established knowledge, I see myself as a pioneering molecular biologist, dedicated to expanding the frontiers of biology where new knowledge is constantly unveiled. My ultimate goal is to advance the discipline and elevate humanity’s collective wisdom.
