Introduction
김지현 (Jihyeon Lia Kim) 박사는 현재 Frazer Institute, The University of Queensland 소속 박사후 연구원으로서, 암세포 생물학을 연구하고 있습니다.
경북대학교에서 Eric di Luccio 교수의 지도아래 학사와 석사 과정 동안 불임연구를 위한 모델생물로 S.Pombe 를 사용하여 meiosis 와 gametogenesis 과정을 연구했습니다. 본 연구 중 Set7 단백질의 H3K37 histone methyltransferase 로서의 역할을 규명하였고, 더 나아가 Set7 을 통한 histone methylation이 gametogenesis 과정에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 연구했습니다. 이러한 연구 활동은 Structure-Cell Press 에 게재되었습니다. 이후 Paul Clarke 교수의 지도아래 암세포의 mitosis 조절 및 apoptosis를 주제로 박사학위를 취득했습니다. 동 연구실에서 박사후 연구원으로 다양한 현미경 기법과 analysis 를 통해 암세포의 apoptosis를 유도하는 기전을 밝히는 연구활동을 진행하고 있습니다.
