Introduction
장창기 교수는 현재 국립공주대학교에서 생물교육과 교수로 재직 중이며 대외협력본부장 또한 역임하고 있습니다. 전공 분야는 식물분류학으로 지속적으로 중앙아시아 천산산맥(길이 2,500km)지역의 식물을 연구하였으며, 그 결과물로 6권의 식물도감을 출간하였고 국제학술지에 10여편 이상의 관련 논문을 게재하며 현지 연구원들에게 전공 지식을 전수해 왔습니다. 특히, 지난 5년간 국립수목원 연구용역 과제인 “Green Road Project”를 수행하여, 우즈베키스탄, 카자흐스탄, 키르기즈스탄 및 타지키스탄 등 현지 4개국 연구진들과 함께 천산산맥에만 자라는 880여종의 특산식물 목록을 학계 최초로 보고했습니다. 장창기 교수는 2008년부터 재한국식물분류학회 이사 및 자원보존분과 위원을 역임 중이며 2021년부터 2년간 국립공주대학교 사법대학 학장을 맡은 바 있습니다.
