연구소개
강원대학교 의과대학 “줄기세포 및 응용연구실 (Stem Cells and Applications)”은 인간 전분화능줄기세포, 오가노이드, 유전자편집 및 오믹스를 기반으로 폐섬유화, 만성폐쇄성폐질환 등 만성호흡기질환 치료 및 예방을 위해 다양한 연구를 진행하고 있습니다.
최근 코로나 팬데믹과 고농도의 겨울철 미세먼지 노출은 급만성 폐질환의 유병률과 사망률 증가와 직접적인 연관성이 높은 것으로 알려져 있지만, 감염원과 대기유해물질이 호흡기 질환을 유발하는 기전 이해와 치료법은 부족한 현실입니다. 저희 연구실에서는 줄기세포를 이용한 폐 오가노이드 제작 기법을 통해 다양한 노출 및 감염원에 대한 분자유전학적 영향 및 치료 약물에 대한 플랫폼으로 활용하고 있으며, 면역세포를 이용한 치료법 개발에 노력하고 있습니다.
